Today I opened the mail to find a birthday letter written by a 17-year-old young woman of God that I have been counseling for a while. She wrote the sweetest two page letter. I have asked her permission to share the whole letter, but I feel it’s ok to share just a little—
“There has been countless times that while talking to you over the phone, I have felt a strong presence of God that brought me to tears.You have helped me so much. With God’s help, you taught me about true forgiveness, trusting God and seeing myself through His eyes. You have cried with me, prayed with me, taught me, comforted me and are a perfect example of what a godly apostolic counselor and woman should be.”
This brought tears of joy to my heart – TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!!!
Teaching and counseling God’s truth is my heartbeat. We can have a salvation, but life happens and can bring us painful experiences. The devil wants to magnify our adversities and get our eyes off of God our Savior and healer of our brokenness.
I’ve received many thank you notes and comments in 24 years of counseling, but this is one of the most rewarding and precious from a teenager who has a deep heart after God.
I’m giving God the complete glory for my teaching and counseling ministry nationwide. I love sharing God’s truth – it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path!
