I was just now listening to Christian radio and it was women talking about growing old, graying hair, sagging skin, etc. I just felt like saying to everyone (women & men) – we all are growing older.
Our bodies are not going to remain young forever. When we know who we are in God, we refuse to place our value/worth in our appearance. As I will soon be 71 yrs. young, I’ve always made an effort to look the best I can with how God created me, but I refuse to be despair because I may have a few gray hairs, age spots on my hands and a wrinkle here and there.
My worth comes from God alone. I’m special to God because He created me in my mother’s womb and designed every part of me. God knows my days from beginning to end.
The most important part of my worth is because God loved me before the foundation of the world that He planned to die on a cross for my sins to redeem me to Him for eternity!!!
As I gracefully grow old, I will focus on God and His glory and I refuse to worry about another gray hair or age spot. I give God the glory I’ve made it thus far!!!!
When I was in my 30’s, 70’s seem old. But now that I’m in the beginning of my 8th decade of life, it does not feel old at all. I feel like I’m about 48 – 50. I give God all the glory for my excellent health.
I’ve told the Lord, I want to be like Moses. Let me be used for His glory until He says it is finished for me and then God can take me through the rapture or death – I’m ready anytime!
In the meantime, I will continue to live for Him, teach, counsel and write for His glory living in the expectancy of His return at any moment. I have too much to do for Him, to worry about aging!
I pray this encourages everyone who is growing older with me, no matter your age!
