NOTE: Christmas can be a blessed time or a time of grief because of events in our lives. My hubby went to the Lord on July 18, 2020, after 50 years of marriage and 60 years of being an ordained minister. Hubby loved God first then me and our children. Thank God that He came in flesh as Jesus Christ to give us hope beyond this life. Life is short – eternity is forever. God is the God of all comfort!

Twas the week before Christmas and all through the house, aloneness seeps in because of no spouse.
The lights are lit, the candles all glow, the never-ending aloneness continues to flow.
His chair is empty though wrapped in red. I miss the loving words that he always said.
God came to earth with the gift of salvation. My hubby’s in heaven in his glorification!
It is 3:28 and I’m awake. My body is tired, but my mind is wired.
I’m eating wheat toast smothered in honey. The milk is cold. I’m ready to fold.
It’s almost four. I’m back in bed.
Jesus came as Prince of Peace. “Jesus, please give me peaceful sleep.”
HE DID!
PS – This is my simple attempt at rhyme for the first Christmas without my hubby of 50 years! This rhyme came to my mind as I was wakeful. I recorded it on my iPhone snuggled under the covers. (I’m not even sure if the punctuation is correct!)
