Ephesians 1:18-19 Amplified Bible (AMP)
18 “And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the [a]hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the [b]saints (God’s people), 19 and [so that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of His mighty strength—“
Do you read God’s Word daily? How often do you stir up the gift that is within you? God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Paul said to the church at Ephesus, “I pray that the eyes of your heart (the very center and core of your being) may be enlightened (flooded with the light by the Holy Spirit), so that you will know and cherish the hope to which He called you!” Reread and study these two scriptures above.
God has given us a hope in Him that is beyond description. We are the temple (house) of God! We have His active spiritual power and greatness living within us through the baptism of the Holy Ghost! We need to get our eyes off of our life’s circumstances and start looking at our life through the eyes of God’s truth.
My teaching, counseling and writing are all based on God’s Word. Satan wants to steal, kill and destroy all of us. We have the whole armor of God to devour the devil’s lies. We must get our eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus has all power in heaven and earth. Satan has no power – only the power we give him through our thought life. Death and life are in the power of our thoughts that create our words. We choose death or life!
People who need help from God to heal the pain of the past or present, must recognize the warfare of the devil. Negative thoughts only come from Satan. We have the power to rebuke the negative thoughts through the power of God’s spoken word just as Jesus did in the wilderness when tempted by Satan.
God is the Wonderful Counselor and His Word says there is safety in abundance of counseling. Through God’s guidance, I went in to counseling education to equip myself to help the hurting people who I was teaching in the church who came to me with numerous problems. From that God-based counseling education, the Lord opened a ministry door that has literally reached around the world.
I am a conduit of God’s truth. When a person is hurting, they seem to have ‘tunnel vision’ regarding their life. In counseling, I help the hurting to look at their life through God’s truth and not their ‘tunnel vision.’ Romans 12: 2 informs us that we can be transformed by renewing our minds – with what? – God’s truth!

From the foundation of having the Holy Ghost for 61 years, teaching the Word for over 50 years and God-based counseling education, I have witnessed in confidentiality thousands of lives transformed through God’s truth. To God be the glory!!
Teaching God’s Word is life-changing to the ones who take ownership of the their process of healing. When a hurting heart understands from God’s Word how much God loves unconditionally, they start the process of transformation. Our value, that I call our ‘God-worth’, comes from God as our Creator and His manifested love by dying on the cross to become our Savior! God’s love for us is based on His performance in creation and our salvation, not our performance. We can do nothing to deserve God’s love. He gives His love freely to all that come to Him!
The ‘eyes’ of the hurting heart can become clouded. We need to see through a healed heart. This happens when we apply God’s truth that is heart changing. God desires the ‘eyes’ of our heart to be turned on Him! We have the God who spoke the world into existence living within our hearts!!! That truth is powerful!! God in us the hope of glory!!!
No matter what happened in your past, you must allow God’s truth to clear your vision and see yourself through His eyes! Your past pain must no longer define who you are today in Him!
