Do you feel unloved or unworthy of God’s love?

LIFE ENRICHMENT MINISTRIES, INC. (501c3) – www.carolclemans.org

Many people with a Holy Ghost experience of salvation are sitting on church pews today with a sense of unease in their spirit. They question whether they are ready for Jesus to come. Fear and guilt seem to dominate their thinking. Yet they cannot pinpoint one certain reason. As they seek godly counsel, they share this unrest in their soul and I begin to ask questions.

Almost all have a common core experience of childhood abuse or emotional pain. Some were emotionally abused, some physically abused or sexually abused or abandoned. Some were raised in a family that went to church but was extremely dysfunctional in the home.

All of the above can create a strong feeling of being unloved or unworthy. If unloving abusive words were spoken over a period of years, it creates a feeling of being bad and unaccepted by others. Hurting people get caught in the devil’s performance trap. Negative self-talk sabotages everything they attempt to do. There is an overpowering concern as to what others think about them.

The devil whips many people emotionally with a feeling of low self-concept. Satan’s lie is: if I can perform to please others, then I have value and worth. It is impossible to live a life to please others and be happy. You can be saved, but walking wounded that robs your Joy in God and hinders your testimony.

GOD’S LOVE FOR US AND TOWARD US IS NOT BASED ON OUR PERFORMANCE! God’s love is unconditional. God so loved the world that He gave us His Son to die on a cross for the penalty of our sins. It is HIS PERFORMANCE, not ours!!

OUR WORTH COMES FROM GOD ALONE: God is our creator and then He became our Savior! It is what He did for us that gives us value and worth. We can do nothing to earn His love. He gave His life so that we could have life more abundantly through salvation.

Romans 8:1 is God’s truth about us through salvation – there is NO condemnation when we are in Christ Jesus and walking in the Spirit! We can be transformed by renewing our mind with His truth – Roms. 12: 1 & 2.
