We have people in our churches that have been saved for years and yet they are hurting emotionally from events in their past or present circumstances. I posted an article on my website: www.carolclemans.org entitled, “I’m Saved, But I’m Still Hurting.” The response of the readers was overwhelming.
Emotional pain comes from all types of abuse, divorce, death, abandonment, anxiety, grief of loss of marriages, homes, jobs, friendships, etc. The devil takes the painful events in our lives and tries to fill our minds with his lies of defeat. He robs our joy in the Holy Ghost through his lies. Hurting people do not feel God loves them.
Spiritual and emotional healing takes place when we apply God’s truth to our situation. The Bible says we are transformed by renewing our minds, to be renewed in the spirit of our minds and gird up the loins of our minds. Prayer is a major source of renewal, but God’s truth is the key to transformation of our thinking. When we know (it’s a process of attainment and personal application) the truth (God’s truth), the truth shall set us free. We must fill our hearts and minds with His truth to overcome the lies of the devil. Our thoughts and words set the course of our future.
I teach, counsel and write God’s truth. The battle is in the mind. As a man thinketh in his heart so is he. If you think defeat, depression, etc., that’s what you will receive, BUT GOD’S TRUTH transforms the negative to the positive.
