How does one develop an intimate relationship with God?
God wants us to love Him with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:29-31). The heart, soul and mind of us is our inner unseen self that will live forever in either heaven or hell. It is the seat of our emotions/will/decisions from which we live out in our body that is our strength.
Our thoughts create our feelings. Our feelings are revealed through our words and actions. God desires us to filter all we say and do through His Wisdom/His Word (Psalm 119:9-11).
It is having an ongoing dialogue with God in our hearts/minds about all that we do. We are to glorify God in our body and spirit which belong to God (1 Cor. 6:18-20).
We are to do all – whatever – we do heartily as unto the Lord (Col.3). Our words, attitudes, actions must give glory to God. We are to love one another (1 John 3).
Allow the Fruit of the Spirit to manifest itself in your words and actions (Gals. 5 & 1 Cor. 13). We must spend time with God in prayer and through His Word. What we feed self through our eye/gate and ear/gate is what we become (Matt. 6:21-23).
Jesus is coming soon for a Bride that is making herself ready looking for His return at any moment! Developing an intimate relationship with God happens from an all-consuming heart full of His love. If we love Him, we will keep His commandments. It is a total surrender of self into God’s control!
