God desires for all of us to walk in the Spirit. In my teaching, counseling and writing, I am responsible to God as I am in every area of my life. I must speak His truth and do it in love. God does not tolerate sin. He wants His Bride to be pure in heart.
When a person chooses to have an on-going affair with a sinner for years or a one-night stand, it proves the condition of the heart. God says, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Our actions reveal our hearts. Mark 12 informs us that the greatest commandment is to “Love God with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength.” When you read the chapter, it shares that if we do this one commandment we are fulfilling the whole law!
What does loving God in this way mean? It means that we are responsible to God for every thought, feeling and action. There can be nothing about us that excludes God. We must be God-centered. We must be Holy Ghost controlled. We must filter everything we say and do through God first! It amazes me to hear a person say who is living a sinful lifestyle, “I’m praying and fasting for the courage to make the right decision.” Making the right decision is a choice! It is not based on praying and fasting! “When you know to do good and you doeth it not, it is a sin unto you.” (James 4:17) God made it clear!
Is sinning worth the stress, heartache and emotional pain for you and others in your life? It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment. God is love! He proved His love by His death on the cross. He suffered a horrible bloody death because He desires a Bride for eternity without spot or wrinkle or any such thing! Yet, people who attend church slap God in the face with their sinful actions! There is a heaven and there is a hell. The demons believe there is one God and they tremble. Satan knows his final damnation and he is determined to kill, steal and destroy as many churchgoers as he can.
There is a difference between a churchgoer and a child of God. A churchgoer is someone who has experienced salvation, but is lukewarm in his/her soul. They have one foot in the world and the other foot in the church, but lack a deep relationship with God. The flesh is their idol – they fulfill the lust of the flesh. The child of God loves God so much that they allow God to rule and reign in their hearts. They make decisions based on God’s truth. They do not want to break the heart of God. When temptation stares them in the face, they turn and flee from the sin that can so easily beset them!!! They make daily choices to please God instead of pleasing the flesh!!! It’s all about choice!!! Your choices prove who you love the most – self or God!
Satisfying the flesh might give you a ‘tickle’ of pleasure because there is pleasure in sin for a season. BUT the season will come to an end and then there are consequences to suffer for sinning. God has a better plan – narrow is the way that leads unto life and few there be that find it. The ones that find the narrow way are those who make the Godly choices. They are willing to ‘take up His cross’ and follow Him. Life is too short to live for the pleasures of this world – they are fleeting. We have no promise of tomorrow – life is like a vapor – here for a moment and then gone. If you are following the flesh, it takes just ONE decision to stop, turn around, REPENT of your sins and ask God for His forgiveness with a genuine heart. Start having a daily relationship with God through prayer (praying in the Spirit), devouring His Word to become God-conscious in all you do.
God says to do EVERYTHING heartily unto Him. You cannot sin heartily as unto the Lord – it just does not happen when God is ruling your life. Jesus is returning for a Bride at any moment to rule and reign with Him for eternity over the new heaven and new earth that He will create after the final White Throne Judgment. Satan and His demons will be bound in a fiery hell that will burn for eternity including all people who choose to follow their flesh. For the joy that was set before God in the flesh, He endured the cross. We will live in that eternal joy with Him in a body like His glorious body that will live forever!!!!!!!
Is it worth it??????? No it’s not worth it to sin, BUT it is worth it to live for Him on earth and be holy as He is holy!!!!!! Look up – our redemption draws nigh!!!!!
