The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit! My challenge to everyone I minister to through teaching, counseling or writing is that we must ‘live’ in the Word of God daily. “How can a young man/woman stay pure? By obeying the Word of God.” (Psm. 119:9-11) If we feed on the Word of God daily and pray in the Holy Ghost, we will have the strength to be holy as He is holy!
Many will say, “It’s so much harder for our young people today to remain sexually pure.” I totally disagree with this statement. The Holy Ghost in us is the same yesterday, today and forever! The problem is choice. What we choose to feed – the flesh or the Spirit – is what will control us. When we are full of His Spirit, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Psalm 119:9-11 (NLT)
9 How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.
10 I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Our environment can influence us only if we allow it. When we realize how special we are to God, we will not sin. We will allow God to rule and reign in our hearts. The basis for sin is our selfishness that is from Satan. Get the youth of your church into Bible study. A survey was taken across America a few years ago that proved the youth groups that were growing were the ones that made Bible Study the center of their activities. Youth are seeking truth. They are sick of hypocrisy!
1 Corinthians 2:16 (NLT)
16 For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.
We have the mind of Christ through His indwelling Spirit and His Word! The Word teaches that we must be holy and He is holy! God’s holiness is a ‘cut above all else’! We are to offer out bodies as a living sacrifice unto the Lord that is our reasonable worship unto Him!
I’m counseling young people and parents from churches across the nation. They tell me the sin issues that are active in the church. Youth and worship leaders are ‘worshiping’ in church then after church they are involved in ‘outer sex’ (everything sexual except intercourse) and telling each other it is not a sin!
I Corinthians 6 tells everyone to flee sexual sins! Paul gives instructions to the church that we are the temple (house) of the Holy Ghost – our body does not belong to us, it belongs to God – we are to glorify God in our body and our spirit! No touch from the neck to the knees outside of marriage.
We cannot be involved in any sexual sin including pornography and have a pure heart in the sight of God. Come out from among the sinners and be ye separate! We are to have a holy mind! A holy mind produces holy thoughts! Holy thoughts produce holy words and actions!
God is returning for His Bride without a single spot of sin. He could come at any moment. Pastors and parents, what are you teaching your youth and young people? Let’s not be afraid to teach about God’s truth on sexuality. I have a parent scheduling the whole family on God’s view of sex through a Skype counseling session – parents and their teens. I’m excited about it!!
Pastors, invite me to come to your church and teach a Sexual Purity Conference for the whole church for marriage, older singles, teens and youth all together (including porn addiction issues). God created sex not the devil. God honors sex within His boundaries for our provision and protection.
Through obedience to God’s Word we can live holy pure lives in this evil present world. His Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path on how to live holy lives unto Him! We all need the ‘S-word of the Spirit’ that is the Word of God!
