God’s heart’s desire is to have an intimate relationship with His Bride as individuals. He knows our thoughts before we think them. God desires for us to be in moment-by-moment dialogue with Him in our heart, soul and mind on a continual basis. I call this living in a God-conscious state of mind. It’s filtering all that we do through God.
The discipline of developing this type of relationship with God is what is missing in so many lives. I counsel people nationwide by phone/Skype weekly. They have experienced salvation in the power of the Holy Ghost and yet many have not developed a close intimate relationship with God.
Spending time together creates true friendships. Taking time to listen to each other and sharing what is happening in our lives nurture the close friendships I am blessed with. It is the same with God. We must spend time with Him in prayer, His Word, meditation, inviting Him in to every detail of our life. This is the foundation of healing and growing in God. Praying in the Spirit is praying God’s perfect will and building up our most holy faith to live godly.
If we just give a ‘nod’ to God when we are in church service once or twice a week, we will be spiritually weak. No one can grow and heal in God without a close encounter with Him continually. In Him we live and move and have our being.
His Word is a lamp to our feet and light to our path. His Word is full of instruction how to be holy as He is holy. He said, “Draw close to me and I will draw close to you.” We can be transformed by renewing our mind with His truth. Through His Word we can understand His wonderful unconditional love. God fully loves, fully forgives and fully accepts us.
The choice to put God first in life gives us the power to overcome any sin including addiction to pornography. God’s truth and Spirit will give us strength to heal and grow in Him, if we invite Him into our private world. When we love God with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength, we can overcome any sinful temptation because we have put on the whole armor of God using the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:13-17 (NLT)
13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.
15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.
16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.
17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
This is how we develop an intimate relationship with God. God wants all of us – not just a part – He wants all of our heart. The Word of God is the foundation of my teaching, counseling and writing. I’m a conduit of God’s truth. I pray this stirs up the gift that lies within you.
Jesus is coming for a Bride that is living in purity and integrity in body, soul and spirit. He will return with a shout in the heavens at any moment to rescue us from the wrath that is to come on this evil world. I want to walk on the streets of pure gold in heaven with everyone that God brings into my life.
God invites you into His intimate world. Will you accept His invitation?
