Saturday, November 8, 2014, I spoke on an Internet Webinar on the subject “Hidden in Shame” – describing the destruction that an addiction to pornography brings to its victim and those around him/her. (View the webinar from www.hesetmefree.org). Also shared, by the help of God and a sincere heart, a person can be transformed by renewing the mind with God’s truth.
As I was reading in the Bible late that night, I made a post regarding our eye gate on my ministry FB page – Life Enrichment Ministries, Inc. 501c3:
“What we take in with our eyes is the gateway to our souls! Is your body/soul full of light or darkness???? Another scripture for those who are dealing with porn addiction!!”
Luke 11:33-36 (NLT)
33 “No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.
34 “Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is bad, your body is filled with darkness. 35 Make sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness. 36 If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.”
As I read the above scripture, the thought hit me, “Here is another scripture we can share regarding not allowing evil porn to enter our eye gate!” When a person uses porn, their body is filled with darkness – that includes the soul. God’s truth says, “What fellowship can light have with darkness?” There answer is, “None!” What we feast on with our eyes, will either envelope our souls with light or lead us into the devil’s darkness that will bring destruction to body, soul and spirit!
Today, Sunday, November 9,2014, I was reading the scripture below and said, “Yes, Lord! Here is another scripture that speaks to us regarding any sin or words spoken in secret or darkness will be revealed to all in the light!” Then I posted on FB – Life Enrichment Ministries, Inc 501c3 the following:
“I set a guard over my heart and mouth – my only desire is to please the Lord! Every thing that is hidden will be revealed by God, even things said in whispers!!!!”
Luke 12: 2-3 (NLT)
2 “The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. 3 Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear!”
My prayer is, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer!” It breaks God’s heart to watch people consumed with fulfilling their lustful desires in secret thinking no one knows. God knows!!!!!! It does not matter about anyone else! God sees your secret sins of the flesh, all of them, even your words that tear down other people. He sees your attitudes. God reads your heart! The one you are hurting the most with your action and words is yourself.
When you negate others by your tongue, you are sinning against yourself. We read over and over in scriptures about loving one another and yet, in the body of Christ, we can be judgmental in word and attitudes just because a person is different than us. We all are an open book read of all men. Nothing that I say or do is secret from God. He knows our thoughts and actions before we say to do anything. Our words and actions define us now. “From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” – either good or evil.
God’s truth is we must allow the Lord Jesus Christ to rule and reign in our heart, soul and mind. I do not want any darkness to flood my being for my destruction. God will reveal everything in His light in His timing! I love Him too much to fail Him now!
