As we come to the close of 2014 and enter in to 2015, God knows there are many people who need His healing touch in body, soul and spirit. Jesus died on the cross not just to provide salvation, but He nailed to the cross all of our wounds and heartaches. Through the power of His blood and the truth of who we are in Him, he provides healing for all emotional and physical abuse.
God is our Creator and He is our Savior that is why we are very valuable to Him – we are His Special Treasures. God does not define us because of who we are, what we do or what we possess. God defines us for what He made us to be through the power of His creation and His cleansing blood. His love abounds far above and beyond any abuse you may have experienced. As a counselor for over 22 years, I have been told thousands of abuse stories, some lasting 18 years, others being tortured by sinful, lustful humans who were serving the devil. No matter what your past is, God only defines you through His heart of love!
The battle you are fighting is in your mind. Your emotional wounds and feelings of rejection are the tools the devil uses to whip you into depression. He delights in encouraging you to believe all the lies he has told you about yourself. But they are just lies!
Through salvation, you become a brand new creation in Christ. Your past is under the blood! God does not remember or see it – you have been washed clean by the blood of the Lamb! What if abuse happened after salvation? What if you sinned against yourself because of the emotional pain? You simply allow God to be God. Ask God to cleanse you again, by your own repentance of your sin and the forgiveness of what others have done to you. You scream, “NO! I can never forgive!” You must forgive the pain of what was done to you for your own sake!!!! Allow God to be your avenger in His timing!! Refuse to allow your past sin or abuse to define who you are today in Christ!!!!
Romans 8: 1 & 2 (NKJV) “1There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” This is God’s truth and He promised His truth will set us free! Romans 12: 1 & 2 (NKJ) “1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service (worship AMP). 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” God wants you to renew your mind with His truth. When you replace the lies of the devil with the truth in your heart and mind, you will have victory.
