God so loved the world that He came in flesh (God was manifest in the flesh) to die on Calvary to redeem us to Himself.
Love is an action word. God’s Word says if you love me, keep my commandments. God knows we love Him by our actions and our motives.
Love is patient, kind, gentle, self-sacrificing – for God’s definition, read 1 Cor. 13. In a marriage, this love will be actions by both spouses who will love each other sacrificially.
Saying ‘I love you’ without action are just empty words. God says the world will know us by our love one for another. This is talking about action – loving care in relationships, not just words.
What you do for people in your life shows the love you have for them. I have friends from afar that show their love by phone calls, notes, texts, etc. Keeping in touch takes effort and time and it is greatly appreciated.
God tells us to love Him with our whole being and to love others as we love ourselves. That is loving self and others with His unconditional love – Mark 12.
The Bible talks about the Shepherd leaving the 99 and seeking the one lost sheep. A church will be known for its care and concern for hurting people in the sheepfold no matter their status in life. A true Shepherd loves all of his sheep in the same manner.
Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart. Eternity will unfold the truth about those who loved others sacrificially with God’s love!
